Essentially, this is my physical health and sanity network.

My Favorite Practitioners

Teresa Farr is my hairdresser, eyelash and eyebrow tinter and psychological sounding board who reminds me that to look good is to feel good. Her salon, Evolution, is a fabulous place.

Sharon Kraus, acupuncturist, has brought me a great deal of relief for peri-menopause, thyroid wackiness and digestive upsets. She also does Chinese medicine and nutritionally counseling. Plus she has a cute office cat. Email or 214-828-4558

Katherine H. Little, M.D., gastroenterologist, caring and ultra-competent with an excellent and happy office staff. She integrates diet and exercise advice with solid medical training. Be prepared though. She's very popular and new patients face a wait of two months or more to get in. But she's worth waiting for. 214-820-3040 http://www.dhat.com/physicians/little/little.asp

Loretta Peet, DDS, is my dentist, a charming and intelligent person. I'd had a bad run of dentists, with three in a row leaving their career due to mental instability. Dr. Peet repaired their wacky work and made my mouth feel good again. 972-530-6709.

Stephen Pounders, M.D., internist. Efficient and personable, up to date with the latest in medical technology, totally relaxing yet very efficient office and staff. Office in Oak Lawn. 214-520-8833

Debbie Ramaker, massage therapist, helps me work out tension from sitting at a computer too much and various injuries from working outdoors. She has a deft sense of anatomy that really helps when working out persistent problems. If I want simply total relaxation, I go for one of her heated stone massages. http://www.handsofpeace.biz

Cynthia Shaw helped me turn the corner on some serious tummy troubles through expert massage and reiki/energy work. She integrates emotional issues with her physical healing. Her 25 years of experience really shows! http://www.cynthiarshaw.com

Jennifer Walz, LMT: Ended in one session 10 straight months of menstrual pain and helped me with an odd period of insomnia and anxiety -- all with acupuncture and Chinese medicine. She is now on hiatus while raising a beautiful boy. http://consciouscrossingsinc.com/
